Songs on the Journey
In writing Songs on the Journey, the account of our Bible translation project, Robin chose 17 of the songs we had written to include. Each song was meaningful for us at some point in the story.
Songwriting has been an expression of my faith since I was a child, so it was natural that I wrote songs to express what we were experiencing. Five of the songs are each from one of six musicals we wrote together for Faith Academy Davao where I was teaching music and our children attended over a 10-year period. Other songs came out of specific experiences that you can read about in the book. Songs on the Journey is available for purchase through the WycliffeNZ website. https://www.wycliffenz.org/our-store
For those outside of New Zealand, it is also available on Amazon.

Acknowledgements
I am so grateful to those who helped record these songs so that you can hear them as you read the book.
Special thanks to Chuana, one of our lovely daughters-in-law, who sings in all but one of them. She is involved in church worship and musical theatre and has put her heart into each of the songs. She has been so helpful and enthusiastic to be part of this recording project. Without her it may not have happened.
My thanks to Hope Church Hornby for the use of their recording studio, and to Stephen Price, sound engineer from there who recorded, advised and did post-production on all the songs.
Thanks to Wycliffe Bible Translators (WBT) folks for your encouragement along the way— to Jenny Eirena, WBT Scripture through the Arts, for suggesting that we make the recordings in a studio; thanks to Bruce Eirena for setting up the web page to host the songs, and also to Rob Lovatt, WBT director, for his enthusiastic support of the project.
Thanks also to the Hope Church West Melton worship team folks: Tim (for singing in 2 of the songs) Jim and Joel for encouraging and helping with the recording process.
Many thanks to Sarah (among others) for praying and spurring me on, often daily, in the editing process.
To our children and their spouses: Fraser and Bex, Isaac and Chuana, Esther and Nick—I am so grateful to you for your enthusiasm and encouragement for the songs I write.
To Robin, the love of my life, my thanks for writing many of the song lyrics and graciously tidying up my own lyrics. Also, for constantly inspiring and supporting the gift God has given me in music throughout our 41 years of marriage.
My prayer is that these songs will be used by the Holy Spirit to stir and strengthen in the faith those who hear them, for the extension of God's Kingdom.
All for His glory,
"I will praise God's name in song and glorify Him with thanksgiving." Ps 69:30
